# Sun & Moon vs Seestar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Seestar at none against Sun & Moon's 1. Seestar also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (355 vs 7). Sun & Moon's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sun & Moon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Seestar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Seestar holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Seestar has 355 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Sun & Moon's written reviews are positive against 62% of Seestar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sun & Moon ships an update every 3 weeks, Seestar monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
