# BigWrite vs Text Banner

The clearest difference is review sentiment: BigWrite at 100% against Text Banner's 58%. BigWrite also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Text Banner's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (290 vs 19). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Banner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. BigWrite asks for nothing beyond the download.

BigWrite holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Banner has 290 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of BigWrite's written reviews are positive against 58% of Text Banner's.

BigWrite ships an update every 11 months, Text Banner every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
