# Babble vs Random Filter

Babble and Random Filter both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 86% of Babble's written reviews are positive against 49% of Random Filter's. Babble also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 12) and ads (none vs shown). Random Filter's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 79 months) and ratings volume (4.5K vs 5). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Random Filter sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.59 per 7 days. Babble asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.2 for Babble against 4.2 for Random Filter. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Random Filter has 4.5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Babble's written reviews are positive against 49% of Random Filter's.

Babble ships an update every 79 months, Random Filter fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
