# Language Therapy Lite vs Nicolab

The clearest difference is monetization model: Nicolab at free against Language Therapy Lite's free with in-app purchases. Nicolab also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Language Therapy Lite's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 1) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nicolab holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Language Therapy Lite has 1.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Language Therapy Lite ships an update every 4 months, Nicolab every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
