# EMS Guidebook vs EMS Assist

EMS Guidebook and EMS Assist both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of EMS Assist's written reviews are positive against 33% of EMS Guidebook's. EMS Assist also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). EMS Guidebook's advantage is ratings volume (115 vs 11). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EMS Guidebook sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and EMS Assist sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for EMS Guidebook against 5.0 for EMS Assist. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EMS Guidebook has 115 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of EMS Guidebook's written reviews are positive against 100% of EMS Assist's.

EMS Guidebook ships an update every 6 months, EMS Assist every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
