# Break Timer vs Power Focus

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Break Timer at none against Power Focus's 3. Break Timer also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Power Focus's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (457 vs 13). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Power Focus sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Break Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Power Focus holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Power Focus has 457 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Break Timer's written reviews are positive against 66% of Power Focus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Break Timer ships an update every 6 weeks, Power Focus every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
