# Yummypets vs Unsplash

The clearest difference is monetization model: Yummypets at free against Unsplash's free with in-app purchases. Yummypets also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). Unsplash's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 70) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Unsplash holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Unsplash has 13K ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Yummypets's written reviews are positive against 75% of Unsplash's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
