# Voice Notes vs xNotes

The clearest difference is rating: xNotes at 4.5 against Voice Notes's 3.8. Voice Notes's advantage is ratings volume (193 vs 13). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Notes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and xNotes sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

xNotes holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Voice Notes has 193 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 67% and 67% positive.

Voice Notes ships an update every 11 days, xNotes every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
