# CogniFit vs Lumosity

The clearest difference is ads: CogniFit at none against Lumosity's shown. Lumosity's advantage is ratings volume (131K vs 1.7K) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CogniFit sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Lumosity sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lumosity holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lumosity has 131K ratings behind it against 1.7K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of CogniFit's written reviews are positive against 79% of Lumosity's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
