# iMemories vs CaptionWit™

The clearest difference is rating: iMemories at 4.9 against CaptionWit™'s 3.0. iMemories also leads on ratings volume (7.7K vs 1) and chart position (#96 vs unranked). CaptionWit™'s advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iMemories sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and CaptionWit™ sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iMemories holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iMemories has 7.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

iMemories ships an update every 5 weeks, CaptionWit™ every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
