# Shell Mania vs Active Fruit Slots

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Shell Mania at 100% against Active Fruit Slots's 50%. Shell Mania also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (33 vs 1). Active Fruit Slots's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 38 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shell Mania sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Active Fruit Slots sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Active Fruit Slots holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shell Mania has 33 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Shell Mania's written reviews are positive against 50% of Active Fruit Slots's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Shell Mania ships an update every 38 months, Active Fruit Slots every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on September 7, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
