# Lyft vs Token Transit

The clearest difference is rating: Lyft at 4.9 against Token Transit's 3.3. Lyft also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (18M vs 431). Token Transit's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Lyft holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lyft has 18M ratings behind it against 431, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of Lyft's written reviews are positive against 39% of Token Transit's.

Lyft ships an update weekly, Token Transit every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
