# Lyft vs Ridewith

The clearest difference is ads: Ridewith at none against Lyft's shown. Ridewith also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 61%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Lyft's advantage is ratings volume (18M vs 20) and chart position (#2 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Lyft against 4.8 for Ridewith. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lyft has 18M ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Lyft's written reviews are positive against 80% of Ridewith's.

Lyft ships an update weekly, Ridewith every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
