# Off vs Zal

The clearest difference is ads: Zal at none against Off's shown. Zal also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (67% vs 52%). Off's advantage is ratings volume (498 vs 2). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Off sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Zal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Off has 498 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 52% of Off's written reviews are positive against 67% of Zal's.

Off ships an update fortnightly, Zal every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
