# Paramount+ vs Amazon Prime Video

The clearest difference is update cadence: Amazon Prime Video at every 4 days against Paramount+'s fortnightly. Amazon Prime Video also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (3.1M vs 926K). Paramount+'s advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 17%) and chart position (#2 vs #7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paramount+ sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Amazon Prime Video sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Amazon Prime Video holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 926K and 3.1M respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Paramount+'s written reviews are positive against 17% of Amazon Prime Video's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Paramount+ ships an update fortnightly, Amazon Prime Video every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 15, 2026.
