# Happy Scale vs Zero

Happy Scale and Zero both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 32% of Zero's. Happy Scale also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Zero's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ratings volume (445K vs 58K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Zero sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Happy Scale against 4.8 for Zero. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zero has 445K ratings behind it against 58K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 32% of Zero's.

Happy Scale ships an update every 5 days, Zero every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
