# Happy Scale vs Body Fat App

The clearest difference is rating: Happy Scale at 4.9 against Body Fat App's 4.0. Happy Scale also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (58K vs 1). Body Fat App's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and review sentiment (100% vs 92%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Body Fat App asks for nothing beyond the download.

Happy Scale holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Scale has 58K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 100% of Body Fat App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Happy Scale ships an update every 5 days, Body Fat App every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 4, 2026.
