# Happy Scale vs arboleaf

Happy Scale and arboleaf both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 45% of arboleaf's. Happy Scale also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (58K vs 6.6K). arboleaf's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and arboleaf sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Happy Scale against 4.9 for arboleaf. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Scale has 58K ratings behind it against 6.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 45% of arboleaf's.

Happy Scale ships an update every 11 days, arboleaf fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
