# Happy Scale vs WeightRecord

Happy Scale and WeightRecord both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 50% of WeightRecord's. Happy Scale also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (58K vs 4). WeightRecord's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and WeightRecord sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Happy Scale against 5.0 for WeightRecord. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Scale has 58K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of Happy Scale's written reviews are positive against 50% of WeightRecord's.

Happy Scale ships an update every 5 days, WeightRecord fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
