# Happy Scale vs Weight Widgets

The clearest difference is monetization model: Weight Widgets at free with in-app purchases against Happy Scale's subscription. Happy Scale's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (58K vs 2). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Weight Widgets sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Happy Scale against 5.0 for Weight Widgets. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Scale has 58K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Happy Scale ships an update every 5 days, Weight Widgets fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
