# Happy Scale vs Coupleats

The clearest difference is monetization model: Coupleats at freemium against Happy Scale's subscription. Happy Scale's advantage is ratings volume (58K vs 16) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Scale sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Coupleats sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Happy Scale against 4.9 for Coupleats. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Scale has 58K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Happy Scale ships an update every 5 days, Coupleats every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
