# Sound Blaster Central vs LIFX

The clearest difference is rating: LIFX at 3.7 against Sound Blaster Central's 1.7. LIFX also leads on ratings volume (7.1K vs 26) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Sound Blaster Central's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LIFX holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LIFX has 7.1K ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 17% and 18% positive.

Sound Blaster Central ships an update every 6 weeks, LIFX fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
