# Primary Writer vs Clicker Writer

The clearest difference is rating: Clicker Writer at 4.5 against Primary Writer's 4.0. Clicker Writer also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Primary Writer's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 43%) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Primary Writer sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and Clicker Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Clicker Writer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Primary Writer's written reviews are positive against 43% of Clicker Writer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
