# Philstar vs Inquirer Plus

The clearest difference is rating: Inquirer Plus at 4.7 against Philstar's 3.3. Inquirer Plus also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (254 vs 18). Philstar's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (51% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Inquirer Plus sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Philstar asks for nothing beyond the download.

Inquirer Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Inquirer Plus has 254 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of Philstar's written reviews are positive against 38% of Inquirer Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
