# Almavision vs American Thrift

Almavision and American Thrift both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Almavision's written reviews are positive against 50% of American Thrift's. Almavision also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (140 vs 9). American Thrift's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 26 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Almavision against 4.7 for American Thrift. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Almavision has 140 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Almavision's written reviews are positive against 50% of American Thrift's.

Almavision ships an update every 26 months, American Thrift monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
