# Canal 6 vs Universal+

The clearest difference is rating: Universal+ at 4.3 against Canal 6's 2.8. Universal+ also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (142 vs 30). Canal 6's advantage is review sentiment (43% vs 5%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Universal+ holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 30 and 142 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Canal 6's written reviews are positive against 5% of Universal+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Canal 6 ships an update monthly, Universal+ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
