# Direction vs kmaps.co

Direction and kmaps.co both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of kmaps.co's written reviews are positive against 25% of Direction's. kmaps.co also leads on ratings volume (260 vs 6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.6). Direction's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Direction sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and kmaps.co sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Direction against 4.5 for kmaps.co. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: kmaps.co has 260 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.
