# Friendly Puzzles vs Animal Train

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Animal Train at 84% against Friendly Puzzles's 40%. Animal Train also leads on ratings volume (3.9K vs 8) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 11 months). Friendly Puzzles's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Friendly Puzzles sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Animal Train sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Friendly Puzzles holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animal Train has 3.9K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Friendly Puzzles's written reviews are positive against 84% of Animal Train's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Friendly Puzzles ships an update every 11 months, Animal Train every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
