# RunGap vs Treadwear

The clearest difference is update cadence: RunGap at every 2 weeks against Treadwear's every 5 months. RunGap also leads on ratings volume (5.9K vs 4) and device support (3 vs 1). Treadwear's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. RunGap sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 3 months and Treadwear sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Treadwear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RunGap has 5.9K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

RunGap ships an update every 2 weeks, Treadwear every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
