# Solitaire vs Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection

The clearest difference is rating: Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection at 4.8 against Solitaire's 4.2. Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 40) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection has 10K ratings behind it against 40, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 93% of Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solitaire ships an update every 12 months, Boy Howdy Solitaire Collection every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
