# Scout Record Book vs Synaxis

The clearest difference is price: Scout Record Book at Free against Synaxis's $9.99. Scout Record Book also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.6). Synaxis's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Scout Record Book is free to download; Synaxis costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scout Record Book holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synaxis has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Scout Record Book's written reviews are positive against 100% of Synaxis's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scout Record Book ships an update every 3 months, Synaxis every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
