# i読書 vs pixivコミック

The clearest difference is rating: pixivコミック at 4.7 against i読書's 3.0. pixivコミック also leads on ratings volume (272 vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). i読書's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. i読書 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and pixivコミック sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

pixivコミック holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: pixivコミック has 272 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of i読書's written reviews are positive against 39% of pixivコミック's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

i読書 ships an update every 2 months, pixivコミック fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
