# PercussionSS IA vs Xylophone Sim

The clearest difference is rating: Xylophone Sim at 4.3 against PercussionSS IA's 3.0. PercussionSS IA's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PercussionSS IA sells 18 one-off in-app purchases and Xylophone Sim sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Xylophone Sim holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of PercussionSS IA's written reviews are positive against 0% of Xylophone Sim's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PercussionSS IA ships an update every 3 weeks, Xylophone Sim every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
