# Hungry Shark Evolution vs Grow Shark

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Grow Shark at none against Hungry Shark Evolution's 10. Grow Shark also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (92% vs 77%). Hungry Shark Evolution's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 15 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hungry Shark Evolution sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Grow Shark asks for nothing beyond the download.

Hungry Shark Evolution holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hungry Shark Evolution has 202K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Hungry Shark Evolution's written reviews are positive against 92% of Grow Shark's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hungry Shark Evolution ships an update fortnightly, Grow Shark every 15 months. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
