# Google Chrome vs Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard

The clearest difference is ads: Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard at none against Google Chrome's shown. Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). Google Chrome's advantage is ratings volume (4M vs 122K) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Google Chrome sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Google Chrome against 4.6 for Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Google Chrome has 4M ratings behind it against 122K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of Google Chrome's written reviews are positive against 54% of Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard's.

Google Chrome ships an update weekly, Microsoft SwiftKey AI Keyboard every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
