# Roster vs Shift Calendar

The clearest difference is ads: Shift Calendar at none against Roster's shown. On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roster sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Shift Calendar sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
