# Roster vs Shift Work Calendar

The clearest difference is rating: Shift Work Calendar at 4.9 against Roster's 4.4. Shift Work Calendar also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Roster's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 58%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roster sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Shift Work Calendar sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift Work Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 63 and 294 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Roster's written reviews are positive against 58% of Shift Work Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Roster ships an update every 2 months, Shift Work Calendar every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
