# Magic vs The Card

The clearest difference is rating: The Card at 3.7 against Magic's 2.0. The Card also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (57 vs 6). Magic's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and The Card sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Card holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Card has 57 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 41% of Magic's written reviews are positive against 53% of The Card's.

Magic ships an update every 3 months, The Card every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
