# BrainPOP Jr. vs Word Wizard

The clearest difference is update cadence: BrainPOP Jr. at every 6 weeks against Word Wizard's every 15 months. BrainPOP Jr. also leads on ratings volume (21K vs 2). Word Wizard's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrainPOP Jr. sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Word Wizard sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Wizard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BrainPOP Jr. has 21K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BrainPOP Jr. ships an update every 6 weeks, Word Wizard every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
