# Lapse It Pro vs AstroEdit

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Lapse It Pro at none against AstroEdit's 4. Lapse It Pro also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 17) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). AstroEdit's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly) and chart position (#158 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Lapse It Pro costs $2.99 and AstroEdit $2.99 up front. AstroEdit sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Lapse It Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for Lapse It Pro against 3.9 for AstroEdit. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lapse It Pro has 1.2K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 61% and 62% positive.

Lapse It Pro ships an update fortnightly, AstroEdit every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
