# GeoCaches vs Randonautica

The clearest difference is rating: GeoCaches at 4.4 against Randonautica's 3.6. Randonautica's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (13K vs 1.1K). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GeoCaches sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Randonautica sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GeoCaches holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Randonautica has 13K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of GeoCaches's written reviews are positive against 33% of Randonautica's.

GeoCaches ships an update every 2 months, Randonautica every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
