# CU vs iNovels

The clearest difference is rating: iNovels at 4.4 against CU's 2.8. iNovels also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (480 vs 4). CU's advantage is review sentiment (93% vs 59%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CU sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and iNovels sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iNovels holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iNovels has 480 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of CU's written reviews are positive against 59% of iNovels's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CU ships an update every 6 months, iNovels fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
