# Celsius Thermometer Plus vs Transparent Thermometer

The clearest difference is update cadence: Transparent Thermometer at every 9 days against Celsius Thermometer Plus's every 7 months. Transparent Thermometer also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 38%). Celsius Thermometer Plus's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Celsius Thermometer Plus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Transparent Thermometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Celsius Thermometer Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 54 and 15 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Celsius Thermometer Plus's written reviews are positive against 50% of Transparent Thermometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Celsius Thermometer Plus ships an update every 7 months, Transparent Thermometer every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
