# Lapse It vs Video Speed Changer

The clearest difference is rating: Video Speed Changer at 4.7 against Lapse It's 3.4. Lapse It's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lapse It sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Video Speed Changer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Speed Changer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.1K and 1.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Lapse It's written reviews are positive against 34% of Video Speed Changer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lapse It ships an update every 2 weeks, Video Speed Changer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
