# Lapse It vs Timelapse by ReeLapse

The clearest difference is rating: Timelapse by ReeLapse at 3.9 against Lapse It's 3.4. Lapse It's advantage is review sentiment (42% vs 26%) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 127). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lapse It sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Timelapse by ReeLapse sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Timelapse by ReeLapse holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lapse It has 1.1K ratings behind it against 127, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Lapse It's written reviews are positive against 26% of Timelapse by ReeLapse's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lapse It ships an update every 2 weeks, Timelapse by ReeLapse monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
