# HamAntCal vs Antenna Tools

The clearest difference is price: Antenna Tools at Free against HamAntCal's $0.99. Antenna Tools also leads on update cadence (every 4 months vs every 31 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). HamAntCal's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (57 vs 7). On in-app purchases, monetization model, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Antenna Tools is free to download; HamAntCal costs $0.99 up front. HamAntCal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Antenna Tools sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Antenna Tools holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HamAntCal has 57 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HamAntCal ships an update every 31 months, Antenna Tools every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
