# Recent Contacts vs WordBoard

The clearest difference is price: WordBoard at Free against Recent Contacts's $4.99. WordBoard also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Recent Contacts's advantage is review sentiment (90% vs 77%) and chart position (#46 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

WordBoard is free to download; Recent Contacts costs $4.99 up front. Recent Contacts sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and WordBoard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WordBoard holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordBoard has 5.6K ratings behind it against 602, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of Recent Contacts's written reviews are positive against 77% of WordBoard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Recent Contacts ships an update every 2 months, WordBoard every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
