# Speedometer GPS+ vs Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker at 4.1 against Speedometer GPS+'s 3.5. Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (29 vs 2). Speedometer GPS+'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer GPS+ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker has 29 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of Speedometer GPS+'s written reviews are positive against 43% of Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Speedometer GPS+ ships an update every 6 months, Speedometer GPS Speed Tracker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
