# iClassSchedule vs Smart Diary

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Diary at 4.8 against iClassSchedule's 1.0. Smart Diary also leads on ratings volume (43 vs 1) and review sentiment (66% vs 50%). iClassSchedule's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iClassSchedule sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Smart Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Diary has 43 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of iClassSchedule's written reviews are positive against 66% of Smart Diary's.

iClassSchedule ships an update fortnightly, Smart Diary every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
