# BAND vs Gambit Connect

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Gambit Connect at none against BAND's 10. Gambit Connect also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). BAND's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 13 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BAND sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Gambit Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gambit Connect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BAND has 73K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BAND ships an update weekly, Gambit Connect every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
